Slow improvement in demand weighs on China lysine prices

Lysine prices in China continued to drop during the week ending August 13.

As feed millers limited purchases while soymeal prices remained weak, sales of lysine stayed slow, prompting producers to cut prices to attract buyers.

Imported 98.5-percent lysine prices remained in the range of RMB10.50-11.10/kg.

Demand for lysine is expected to expand as feed demand rises due to higher animal releases.

RMB1=US$0.1625 (Aug 14)
